Easy tho expensive way to grow variety!

Problem I had was recognizing seedlings of flowers not accustomed to growing from seed, so undoubtedly weeded out some
Flowers. Would be laborious to research individually.

Worked well and fun...

The mat came with a list of the annual and perennial seeds I might see sprout, and even being a gardener with experience, I've enjoyed the surprise of watching a mix germinate, I cut a portion of the mat to use (and still have about half for another time and space). Planting as directed was easy, and the area was thronged with plants which I saw insects frequent. I didn't particularly notice an increase in the insect population overall, but my garden is already geared toward pollinators. Herbs and a few species of annual flower dominated the first year, but now I'm looking forward to the perennial phase. I already see coreopsis lanceolata and Shasta daisy seedlings. A few quibbles keep me from giving this item 5 stars. I think the seed mix should be listed on the website though it's obvious from the picture that dill and cosmos are included. Also, this format is lovely to work with but kind of pricey; there's no denying a seed mix would work as well for those who follow directions. And finally, I think a prettier (to humans) group of annuals could have been designed while still maintaining the ability to attract insects. With that said, I still might try a different mat or disks in future. (And plant the remaining portion of this mat this season.) A happy experience.

Plant these mats in your garden and watch the color unfold as spring turns to summer. Easier than making a bed, lay one of these convenient sheets out, cover with a light layer of sifted compost or soil, water, and you'll have the perfect garden in no time!
