12/18/09 A spell of mild weather in mid-winter can incite new growth in dormant shrubs and other perennial plants. New growth is especially prone to cold temperatures. If you notice early, tender, spring growth prior to an especially cold snap, cover plants with remay or frost blankets for protection.
