Secret to germination problems!

I wrote a review in 2021 about my problems with germination. Through trial and error in 2022, I found the secret to this variety is to keep soil medium temperature between about 75-78 degrees and keep cells covered and very moist. Germination occurred in 7-12 days, regardless of planting medium.

great pepper, if you can get germination early

This is a great tasting, vigorous and productive little pepper, the problems is achieving germination. I have tried 4 different methods for indoor germination, but only achieved germination once in the past 3 years. I am going to try again this year, but this is not a plant for beginners.

Better called Green Sweeties

I planted this as soon as it arrived and grew it in a pot in the full sun. As of now, Sept. 29, there has been only one pepper that turned orange. The rest are still completely green. The orange one was delicious but I'm very disappointed.

love these "snacksize" peppers

I have been planting these peppers for the last three years now & we love them. I plant 3 pepper plants (1 orange, 1 yellow & 1 red) in a 22" container. I plant 2 containers this way.
In 2020 I ordered them to be delivered in the first half of April. Since the take 62-75 days to develop, we picked our first green ones in June. The green ones finally started to turn colors ( first yellow, then orange, then finally red) in July. We finished picking the last of them in October before we thought the frost might hit.
It is now Thanksgiving and we are still eating them.
We love them! Besides snacking on them, we stir fry or grill them with many other vegetables & meat, like yukon gold potatoes, onions, mushrooms, chicken apple sausage, boneless chicken for example.

Capsicum annuum Our wide array of fabulous peppers, both sweet and hot, offers one of the richest sources of nutrients in the plant kingdom. Hot peppers contain capsaicin, which revs up your metabolism and reduces general inflammation in the body.

Days to maturity are calculated from date of transplanting and reflect edible green fruit.

Culture
• Peppers are warm-season annuals that grow best in composted, well-drained soils with a pH of 5.5-6.8
• Extra calcium and phosphorus are needed for highest yields
• Plants perform best when grown in raised beds and covered with plastic mulch
• Row cover young plants, remove after blossoms form
• Peppers grow slowly in cool soils; do not transplant before weather has stabilized
• Peppers set fruit best between 65-85°F

Direct Sowing
• Not recommended

Transplanting
• Start seeds in trays 8-12 weeks before anticipated transplant date
• Once seedlings have 2 sets of true leaves, up-pot to a 4 inch pot
• Use 1/2 cup TSC's Complete fertilizer and a shovelful of compost around each plant
• Fertilize with Age Old Bloom when plants begin to flower

Harvest & Storage
