Plant-Cuore Di Bue Tomato

Plant-Cuore Di Bue Tomato

YTM965

85 days. This curious and striking tomato is guaranteed to turn heads as well as satisfy appetites. Its name is simply Italian for oxheart, although this selection is an exotic twist on the oxheart tomato type. These big tomatoes have a bottom-heavy shape reminiscent of a pouch with a gathered top. They measure 3 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches long and weigh in just under 1/2 pound each. Cuore di Bue is one of the tastiest saucing types with dense flesh and lustrous, orangey-red skin. Indeterminate.

In spite of the terrible heat this summer, I did get quite a few tomatoes from this plant. The plant arrived in excellent condition, and really took off after planting. The large fruits were more fleshy than I expected, and the flavor was fantastic. Now that the heat has subsided, the plant is blooming and setting fruit again. So I hope to enjoy a few more of these beauties before the season ends.

I planted this tomato for sauces, but it tastes so good that we will eat it instead. The tomato has huge fruits, that are very tasty do not have many seeds and are like the best beef steak tomatoes I ate.
