Also called Hen of the Woods, these mushrooms are meaty and scrumptious, growing in overlapping, ruffled, fleshy layers. Maitake are also widely recognized and valued medicinally for apparent immune boosting properties. This kit requires a 55-70°F environment and a little patience, as the first flush usually occurs in 1-2 weeks, but may take up to 2 full months to complete. After the first harvest, move the patch to an outdoor bed for subsequent fruiting, which can occur in 6-12 months.
Complete with instructions, the kit comes ready to use.
