Black Spanish Round Radish
(OP) 60 days. One of the most ancient radish varieties, the black radish has long been known as the most winter-hardy of the tribe. The rough black exterior covers a milky white, tender interior with the just-right amount of zest. Sow in mid or late summer and start to pull when they are about the size of a quarter. These can be left in the ground over winter; cover with a hay or straw mulch to keep the ground from freezing.
