This bold and luxuriant bamboo is a stately presence in the landscape. The culms (or stalks) have a very attractive, two-toned appearance in the spring and summer, which perfectly complements the dark green foliage. A non-invasive, clumping bamboo, it is large enough for a privacy hedge, or can be easily maintained in a container as a spectacular specimen plant. When planted in the ground, Green Screen will reach a maximum of 15–18 feet tall and 12 feet wide at maturity. This variety is the cuisine of choice for western China's giant panda.
