Evergreen Huckleberry
Vaccinium ovatum: Huckleberries are often overlooked by gardeners. The tidy native shrubs are covered with small deep green leaves throughout the year, a natural landscaping plant. They reward you in late summer with blue-black berries that have a delightful sweet-tart zing.
These plants grow well in sun or shade. They make a good short hedge or can be grown in a container. In full sun, they will grow 3-4 feet tall and wide, which is a little smaller and more spreading than other varieties. Plants can reach 6-7 feet in the shade. Fabulous for pies, jams, and syrups. Bears fruit in August. For zones 6–8.
These plants are one year old and ship end of April/beginning of May. Plants are in 3 1/2 inch pots. Order by March 1st for best availability. Complete growing instructions are included with each order.
PLEASE READ: Not Available to HI, US Territories, or Canada.
