Alfalfa Sprouting Seed
WS4302
One of the most popular and easiest to sprout. One quarter cup of seed expands into one pint of protein-rich sprouts. The sprouting action also increases the already plentiful vitamin content. A fresh sweet taste treat for the winter doldrums. A delightful substitute for lettuce on sandwiches.

"Growing delicious, nutritious sprouts year-round right in your own kitchen is quick and easy. Great additions to salads, sandwiches, stir-fries, and just for snacking.
CULTURE: The simplest way to sprout seeds is with the rinse and drain method. You will need a 1 quart wide-mouth glass canning jar with a screw top ring and enough cheese cloth to cover the mouth of the jar. Complete instructions included with each order; for varieties not specified, soak seeds 8-10 hours.
If not properly disinfected, all seed has the possibility of carrying the E. coli bacteria. Please disinfect the seed as per the instructions on the packet.
Seeds for sprouting should be soaked prior to sprouting, for 5 minutes in warm water (pH 6-7) with household bleach at the rate of 1 1/2 cups of bleach to 5 gallons of water. This creates a solution of approximately 2000 ppm chlorine."
