"Luffa cylindrica Chinese cabbage, pac choi, and mustard greens are what typically come to mind when thinking of Oriental vegetables. But don't stop there! To the surprise of many, other vegetables and roots are truly Asian in origin as well. Because of the diverse climate throughout the Far East, many varieties grow well in most areas of North America, and we are pleased to offer a few of them here.
CULTURE: These crops are grown much the same way as melons. They can be direct sown or in shorter-season areas, can be started indoors 3 weeks prior to the last frost and transplanted outside. In traditional Asian gardens, the vine crops are trellised. By trellising you can get more plants in a smaller area. We have been successful growing them on the ground. Mix in 1/2 cup of our complete fertilizer around each plant at transplanting. Space plants 4-6 feet apart if not trellising. SEED SPECS: Minimum germination standard: 80%. Usual seed life: 3 years. Approximately 10 seeds per gram. Sampler: 1 gram"
